“Designed by the runners” – this catchphrase encapsulates everything about this development.

Since the first RUSH was created in 2014, it has been loved by many runners. Every time I meet them at races and trails across the country, hearing their feedback on the RUSH is my greatest joy as a designer and the driving force for the next development. After creating the RUSH UT for ultra-trails, the user base expanded even more, and the design demands became more sophisticated, further boosting my motivation. This miraculous cycle was brought about by a single backpack.

At PAAGOWORKS, we call this cycle “Product Communication.” We value the communication born from the product and use that communication to create new products. This is our ideal way of making things.

Yes, this development was a project where I felt product communication to the fullest. Although I will elaborate on the “Development Secret Story” on this site, this time we created many prototypes and conducted numerous tests based on extensive user surveys. Ten unique and charismatic runners field-tested the products, gave their feedback, and we revised the samples. Through this process, I hand-made over 150 prototypes. In the early stages of design, I made many bags that didn’t resemble the RUSH at all, and by the end, I made such detailed adjustments that even I couldn’t tell the differences. Truly, it was a crazy endeavor!

Through this immense task, I realized that the RUSH I designed had become “everyone’s RUSH.” I thought I was making it for everyone, but it was actually everyone’s opinions that drove me to create RUSH. So, as a token of gratitude, I coined this phrase:

“Designed by the runners”
